Tanto Blade Observation: Won't cut you when closed

Just wanted to share something I noticed on my new Tanto Small 21. The tanto blade is not as tall as the drop point on my other small 21. So, when the knife is closed, the blade on the tanto is not as close to the bottom of the handle. I like this because I have cut the side of my finger tip on the blade of my drop point when it has been closed and in my pocket, when I have put my hand in my pocket and my finger happened to slide down the bottom of the handle. It happens now and then, and got me pretty good the last time. I don't have to worry about this happening with the tanto because my finger won't reach the blade.
Not sure if this is also true for large 21's. I'd be interested in hearing from someone who has both a large tanto and large drop point.

I'll try to add some pics tomorrow.

Got a 25 that bit me.
When I used the tip extensively on hard wood it got blunt.
After a while I forgot and sharpened the blade (Sharpmaker ultrafine).
Well sharp it got and cut it did.

I have no tanto but a large classic and a large 21 insingo. The closed classic can cut you, the insingo not.

My inkosi somehow came open in my pocket last night and I had to untangle it to get it out of my pocket. Different than the OP's point, but I had the thought, "I'm about to get stabbed or cut here" when I was trying to carefully sort things out.

I have a Hinderer that cut me while closed the other day. It happens, I suppose.

Funny story here:

So far I've gotten cut on those god darn premier protein shake boxes but luckily none of my knives.

I'm serious, if you're around a premier protein shake box, duck and cover. Even though it was just a superficial wound I was bleeding everywhere in the parking lot.

With the Umnumzaan, the tanto blade is a hair shorter than the drop point too.

Never really thought about it, until this thread was made. I've been carrying my CRK's in a pocket sheath since I've had one.
I guess I can add to my list of reasons why I like to carry in a sheath.
Even though it takes about 10 seconds to pull it out of the sheath, I've gotten use to it.
