I like tanto blades both in use and style.....
Although when I sharpen a blade I do not try to keep the hard angle that is common today.
I let it the blade become a more natural angle.
Anyone else do this......

It depends on the knife.
When it comes to a thin/not wide blade on a pocket knife like my Ultratech, I don't mind the break rounding out a bit. On a larger heavy duty knife like my Tops Steel Eagle, I do my best to keep that transition crisp as it is very useful for making precise scores and cuts when you have enough size and leverage to press down on the blade a bit more.

I try to maintain the original design, if it has a hard angle I keep it, if it has more of a rounded edge I keep that.

I would keep the hard angle on mine. I always believed that is what a real Tanto looked like anyway.

I tend to not work hard at it. so they round a bit over time. thought real tantos didn't have that double point. they were rounded. thought the double point was an American tanto?

I use a Wicked Edge 130 so keeping the hard angle would be easy for me.

You are probably correct - I've never researched Tanto blades. But I think they look more cool with the hard angle, and might be more useful. I don't have a Tanto yet. Someday I'll see one that I want.
