And, No, you don't need a reason, at all, to buy a nice knife. lol.
Research the Tanto "thing." The Tanto blade shape issue can become very complicated. And, it shouldn't.

I echo the above, I have an older style CQC that survived 4 or 5 years of military use and is still running strong. The only catch may be (if you care) they come with a single edge grind which for a Tanto is no big deal and actually seems to be very strong.

Take a look at the large Microtech Socom, especially the older ones are really nice and up to your given specs.

Yep, I have to agree; get an Emerson. I have my non-waved CQC-7B in my pocket right now. It's a very nice, very sturdy knife.
