Tanto Groove.... Why did no one tell me about this?!

Just got one in today off the exchange, and it's already one of my favorite knives! The previous owner stripped the black coating, so it's very reminiscent of my 0400, just my style. It has just about everything I like in a knife. Tip down carry, not drilled for left hand carry (not too many extra holes in the handle), nice robust, shallow carry pocket clip, G10 scales, frame lock, slim feel, relatively mild jimping, very well fitting finger grooves, great flipping action, no thumb studs, excellent detent, recurve/tanto blade profile, nice little thumb ramp, and blade stock that strikes a good balance between strength and utility. I like the namesake grooves too, they're something interesting and unique. The blade on this one is perfectly centered, locks up solidly, and has no play at all. The only thing I'd change is the blade steel, and maybe the lock material. This knife in S30V (or CPM-154!) with a titanium handle would be grail status for me!

I simply can't get over how much I like this knife over some I've payed literally ten times for or more.

With the 0400:

Looks really good with the 400(been trying to get a pe myself). I like the Martin designs, which is why I started trying to get all the zings. I think there were only four Grooves. If you haven't seen the rainbow you should look it up. Sorry about the rambling. Congrats on the knife. Sounds like you will enjoy it.

The Tanto Groove is very cool, nice score. It caught my eye recently after noticing your 0400. These are two knives on my list albeit I'm not paying some of the prices I've seen on the bay recently. Who am I kidding, there are a bunch of knives on the list although most are ZT's, Zings and of course the Tanto Groove.

The Groove was cheap. Really, really cheap. Keep your eyes open!

The 0400 was also pretty reasonable, under $100 (before the finish work).

The tango groove is getting harder and harder to come by so if ya want one, ya better get on it. I have seen non blems for around 65.00 bucks. Looks good beside that 400. The groove is surprisingly easy to sharpen as well.

when was the groove discontinued anyhow??? ive wanted one for sometime but are hard to find for fair price

I'm gonna pick one of these up soon. There is a Groove on the bay right now for a mere $159 :(

That one was almost mine. I made an offer and the gentleman said no at first, then came back with a yes, but I didn't reply back fast enough for him, so he moved on to you. Would have been my first Groove. Crap... Oh, well. Enjoy!
