Tanto in shirasaya

Hello, i´m Pablo, from Spain. I´m a custom knife maker who pricipally likes traditional styles re-interpretation. I haven´t seen any introduction´s forum, so directly i salutate all of you, and will show you some of my pieces:

This is a forged tanto in shirogami#1 steel (Hitachi). Clay hardened from 770 º C to 50 º C water. Polished to 3.500 grit approximately. Shirasaya was made from fagus silvatica (i don´t know its name in english). Brass kabaki soldered with machigane.

That's really beautiful. I love the grinds. I love the hamon too. The wood looks untreated. Any plans to add lacquer or maybe polyurethane?
