Hey everybody!

It's a nice stormy evening here in Kansas, so I thought I would do a little project on my Opinel No. 8.

I took my Opinel to my #220 grit Sun Tiger waterstone, to try and enlarge the bevel. I took off to much steel, and I started seeing a tanto shape on the blade. I continued shaping the blade to make what I think is a tanto. I finished sharpening on my King #1000 grit waterstone, and then took it to the #8000 grit stone. After all of that was completed I finished stropping with black and white compounds. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

I like it, I'm surprised I haven't seen more people try something like this.
 
That 'accidental tanto' looks familiar. :D

I've done that once or twice (ahem...), and making 'lemonade' from a 'lemon' is a great way to handle it, when it happens. :thumbup:
