I just got a digital camera so I can post decent pictures fairly easily now. If any of you
have time to look at these JPG files, I would appreciate any information you could give
me on this tanto I have had for a few years. The papers came with it, but I have never
found anyone to translate.
You can see kizu just in front of habaki on the last photo. Some fool tried to polish it out.
Otherwise, it is a fairly decent looking tanto. Blade sorta shaped like a naginata.
Thanks in advance.
The first 3 URL’s are about 55K to make easier to read, but they take a while.
Thanks again.

I also probably have the papers sideways and upside down. Ignorance on my part.

It's not upside down, just sideways. I can't read Japanese well, but there is a long description of the physical dimensions and a certification that it was made in the 30th year of Hirohito's reign (1956 I think).

You might want to post this at swordforum.com/nihonto there are some experts there.
