nice blades, looks like the hamons came out nicely-what are your plans for finishing these?

I gotta say a big thanks to walter sorrells for emailing me. I used japanese waterstones up to 8000 grit then went to lemon juice and so on......

thinking about a full shisaya with a egg shell and black lacquer. copper habaki

I gotta say this is the hardest thing I have done in bladesmithing. Well worth the time and effort.
These are out of the w2 I just got a source for.

Lycosa, one is sold with an accompanying waki from folded steel, the other may go to another guy, I am making a waki with no buyer out of this w2 though......

The polish job looks outstanding Daniel. How long did that take? Why didnt you send it to a Japanese polisher to be really traditional?:D

well, I am a bladesmith who wants to learn as much as my craft and not send anything out. I spent some time in the polishing process and now have some ways to cut time. grinder to 1000 grit, then 1500 paper, then 2000 paper, then 4000 waterstone, then 8000 waterstone, beer for me, lemon juice, wash off, flitz, wash, lemon, flitz, wash, lemon and so on until I get the amount of etch I want, I can still bring more activity out of the blades If I continue, but the tanto is free for the guy getting the waki he ordered. and the other is spoken for by a buyer.

aw,,,,,,,,,,,the traditional thing........... I am a redneck not a japanese......... so much for traditional, but I love sake!!@@@!!!!
