Hello everyone,
Both of my large Tanto sebbies have been in the drawer for a while, and today I pulled them out to look at them and HOLY COW!!! they both close way over to the right now!?!?!? This was not the case before, and I know both of them were slightly used before, but they never closed all the way to the right before.
What the heck is going on? Does anyone know? Has this ever been a problem for anyone else, and is it going to be a problem for me, and is it fixable?
thanks.

taking them apart and putting them back together. I noticed that when I put together one of mine incorrectly, the same thing happened...the blade looked off-center.

Sorry...I think I misread your post, I thought you were talking about the blade and not the lock bar.

Sorry, I was just a little jumpy,
I mean I can't believe it.
I am pretty disappointed.
Yes, both locks go way over the right,
and they were just sitting in a drawer,
actually one was open on display, but the other was closed,
Can Chris do anything about this?

Oh man, previous to this there's been only stories about knife abusing fairies! Now there's proof!

I wouldn't worry. Send them in if you're concerned.

You could try to take it apart and clean it. I've noticed that when I've accidently dropped my Sebbie (from a table on a wooden floor), the lock bar goes further over. After cleaning it's gone again...

What Ted said....I've had the same experience.
Definitely put'em up on the rack and do a lube, oil, 'n filter before you ship'em back to Chris.

Straaange !!!

My EDC is a large tanto Sebbie that had at least threee owners before me and came to me totally gunked up around the pivot. The lock bar goes about halfway across. No problem locking, staying locked, or unlocking it.

WM - that has never happened to me. I did have one knife that began it's life like that, and Chris wanted to see it to determine how it could have gotten out of the shop in that condition. CRK will make it right.

You might want to take a pic of the lockup and send it to CRK to get an initial opinion.

My guess is that when you dropped the knife you knocked the parts slightly out of alignment. It wasn’t necessary to disassemble and clean the knife. All you had to do was loosen all the screws a little (about ½ a turn). Then retighten the screws. That will allow the parts to realign themselves. Gently flick the blade open once or twice to set the position of the blade stop sleeve. That should do it. It would be easy for Walking Man to try this on his knives. I don’t see how they could be out of alignment from sitting in a drawer.
