CRK Tanto Unmunzaan
They say in the ads "Front swedge not sharp."
Umm.. Just how "not sharp" are they?!
A Vast majority of what I have seen about CRK are glowing endorsements of these knives, and I really want to get one and see/feel this awesomeness firsthand.
There's only one issue..
!!Why the hell isn't the blade fully sharpened!? This makes absolutely no sense to me.!!
The first inch or so of a $400+ blade..not!.sharp!...
I just don't get it..
The customer base of CRK would surely expect any purchase to be sharp..really from what I've seen here, expectations of any new knife being sharp are actually quite high.

They mean that the swedge on the top of the blade is not sharp. The standard Umnumzaan has a raised swedge on the spine that is "sharp". The tanto blade has a swedge leading to the point that does not form a cutting edge. :)

The middle knife is a stadard blade Umnumzaan with "sharp swedge" the knife on the right is the tanto.

Well...shit, that description is more than a bit misleading then. I wonder how many others read that and thought as I did...
Thanks for the education :)

If you are interested in one, it's the best tanto knife I've ever used. They have a little belly to them and the CRK bank vault lock up is incredible.

There is tanto specific terminology as well...look up "yokote" & "kissaki."
Yokote is where the tanto blade starts the transition near the tip, and the kissaki is from that point to the tip.

Can't go wrong with the Umnumzaan Tanto, great knife in my opinion...
