Tanto vs. Deap Bellied Spearpoint

Hey guys, I am a new member and I am a fan of CRKT knives even though people never seem to mention them here. For me, they are small, lightweight, powerful, reliable, comfortable to use, hold a good edge, extremely rugged, good blade coatings, I could go on all day. But I recently purchased a couple CRKT M21's, a large one, and a smaller one for edc. I was wondering if people could discuss their blade style preferences. What are the pro's and cons of tanto blades (my knives are the M16 14SF and 13SF and 12LE? I purchased the tantos first, but now I think I like the deep bellied spearpoint blades better - they are thicker, and have more heft (spine) toward the blade tip. They also chop better, and would work better for dressing and skinning animals.
Which blade do you guys feel would be the most useful, for everyday use, and which in a survival situation?

I would have added pictures, but it appears there is a trick to it that the webmaster will not share with me.

I was never a fan of tantos myself, espically for wilderness survival.
I couldnt imagine skinning anything with a tanto.

I have the M21-04 and M21-02, I find the M21-04 is a little big for EDC but the 02 is plenty handy.

I also have the Desert Cruiser that is packed in the Waist Pack.

I don't care for Tanto blades on either fixed or folding knives and I also prefer a plain blade without seration, The Desert Cruiser is the only serated blade I have other than cheap knives for weeding the yard.

I bought 2 tanto blades just to check them out (among other reasons). I avoid them now at all costs so the M21 is a godsend

I would personally stick with the spear points, as I've heard it said, tantos are nice to look at but arnt the best for a wilderness setting( which I have also found).

I think of a tanto point as an "urban" tipped knife.
Great for punching a hole in a can, oil drum, or piercing sheet metal.
It has a can-opener effect, like a cutting wedge, kinda.

In the wilderness, I'll take something along the lines of a drop point.

A couple of my buddies have CRKT folders for EDC, basic beat around pocket knives. They do use them, haven't broken them (yet).

I prefer a spearpoint for field use, which is why I EDC a SAK. Well, I like the other tools too.;)

Never been one to use a folder for chopping or bataning, but I guess it can be done (carefully). Of course, there are other ways to get to the heart of the wood, without tempting fate.
