Tanto vs. Drop point Blade shape

It looks like the tanto blade would be easier to sharpen on bench stones. Other than that is there any other advantage the tanto has over the drop point blade shape?
 
I believe the tanto would have a stronger tip than the/a drop point.
Perhaps the two distinct edges could be an advantage.

If you don't really do jobs that call for belly, the two straight edges will be advantageous. I usually carry a tanto because it's like having two wharncliffes in one.
 
The sub-tip on the tanto is great for opening packages and other tasks where a shallow cut with a lot of control and minimal wrist-bending is ideal.
 
The tanto will generally do better at utility cutting. The drop point is better if you need to make detailed cuts that require a finer tip. It's a better slicer as well. Food prep kind sucks with a tanto. Honestly, the insingo beats them both in that department.
