For those of you with the TNK tanto blades, what are your thoughts on them as users? I really like the looks of those knives, but tantos in general just don't seem all that practical. Then again, the CRK tanto profile is somewhat modified compared to the classic style like Emerson uses. Thanks!

I like them just fine. I do not find them lacking at all, in that anything I use my knife for can be done with the tanto.

Perhaps a few tasks are easier or harder depending on blade shape, but not remarkably so...at least not in my activities.

The CRK Tanto makes for a fantastic EDC; I carried one for several months. The secondary tip works for draw cuts like the Insingo, and the primary tip works well for piercing. There is a little more time involved stropping to maintain the tip-edge, but it is worthwhile and not terribly difficult. After having all three blade shapes, I would have a difficult time choosing a favorite. The drop point and Insingo are phenomenal at what they do, but the Tanto is a nice blend of both.

I strongly suggest giving one a try.

Cheers!

That looks great!
