It's a forum plugin that works with a reader on a smart phone.

It is _really_good_ for reading forums on an Android phone.

I *think* it's free as far as the plugin that gets added to the forum site.

Adding a mobile skin or theme might also be something to consider.

We're probably going to be adding a mobile skin in the near future.

Spark, Google it. Bad news for vbulletin forums= leads to hacks and what not ;)

Mobile skins or tapatalk?

There's no more 'risk' to the tapatalk plugin than running php BB's in general ;-).

There were initial issues and tapatalk has been extremely responsive in addressing them as they come along...as with any project.

Look up phpBB vulnerabilities too, you will be there for days reading.

The trick is to simply keep things patched and current to at least lessen the risks.

You have to work in the business to interpret what 'security groups' disclose. With anything new you will see a laundry list of issues reported and in the case with tapatalk they have been addressed as they have been reported. Better than many other platforms/applications frankly.

At the least kick in a mobile skin as this forum is pretty awful to view on a mobile.

Oh and I'm 'in the business' so to speak.

tapatalk is the way to go, only problem is only 1 out of the 3 forums i visit use it. the one forum is American run and very closed minded to tapatalk, i highly doubt they will ever unlock it.

the canadian forum runs it and it's a dream. i know the owner and he has yet to see any hacks or problems.

there is also a update for vBulletin that puts a "View First Unread" button next to the Thread Tools tab. it's really nice because it jumps you to the newest post in a thread and saves you a lot of scrolling

so my fingers are crossed that bladeforums unlocks tapatalk. it would make all the time spent out of the house that much better

I've been using for some time now, and it makes life easier for mobile phone users that have little to no access to desktops during the day. It's free for forums.
