I've read that management is not continuing with Tapatalk. I've used it almost exclusively for a number of forums for some years and never had a problem. As far as spam goes I never had any. There is a small banner add that you can register the program and it will go away. I've never seen any pop ups.

I read that they mirror data. That's over my head but if they do maybe it's to speed up access by reducing bandwidth load on the forum server. They can't copy anything that's not pubic access anyway.

Regarding passwords, I have to enter my passwords into Tapatalk just as in the web page.

I had to sit at a computer at work for years, it's not fun. Tapatalk lets me watch tv in the evening and browse what's new very easily from my easy chair while doing other things.

When returning to a forum it goes right to where I last read so I don't waste time trying to find where I was. It doesn't show peoples sigs or some other header stuff but I don't miss that.

If I use my phone's web browser to access the forum when I click a link it tries to open tapatalk. My work around is to paste the link, ugh. Maybe I'll find a way to disable that connection attempt.

To those who never used it you don't know what you're missing. It makes browsing the forum fun rather than work, especially if you use more than one.

So, please reconsider.
Thanks,
Steve K

I tried tapatalk once; and quickly uninstalled it because I lost too much functionality. I'm not knocking it, as I know a lot of people that love it... it just wasn't for me (at least at that time). There are a couple of current threads, which you apparently know about - why not continue the discussion there as opposed to starting anew?

Taptalk was a plus for my purposes. Uploading pictures direct from my phone was a breeze, now not so much. I had to uninstall it also because it kept trying to open when BF was being accessed. And we had multiple other forums at one touch. BF is by far my go to site so it is what it is. But I would be pleased to get it back.

It always amazes me that when forum owners announce they're dropping Tapatalk (and many are) because of security and privacy concerns that users will still complain that it's gone because of how convenient it was.

This^^^

Good riddance, I say.
