Hey guys, kinda an odd question but anybody got any good remedies for geting tape residue of a blade? After going through and breaking down some boxises I had a metric f@#$ ton of tape residue stuck to my blade. I eventuly got it off by useing realy hot watter and my fingernail, but there has got to be an easer way. Stuped question I know but just wanted to know what you guys use.

Hi steelhog -

Goo Gone.

Lighter fluid also works well.

EDIT: the ex-first prez beat me to it.:D

I usually just rub it off with my thumb, or if theres a lot, some cheap Scotch tape, pressed on to the residue, then lifted off a few times, then the thumb.

I've successfully removed tape residue with plain kerosene, which is very mild...be careful with Goo Gone or Goof Off on black coated blades, it can damage the finish.

I carry a Zippo, I have to say that Zippo lighter fluid works better than anything else I've tried. Believe me I get a LOT of tape gunk on my blades.

the chemicals mentioned work well.
