I've read several times about makers using tapered pins in the construction of their folders. I would appreciate ANY information in this regard!! I've used tapered pins in dies and other assemblies used in manufacturing but CANNOT see a reason to use them in soft materials like folder frames!!
I know that most of the makers that use them make VERY high end knives. Are they using soft pins???... so that only one end needs to be peined??? Is this to provide alignment of the frame sides during assembly?? The taper of the hole and the pin must be exact!! Are they making their own pins based on available reamers???
As always, I would GREATLY, appreciate YA'ALL's feedback on this one
