Anybody use one? Can you help me understand the benefits?

Thanks!

Dan

I use them. Easier than using a wrench. I made them myself. If they are made right they will hold the buff plenty tight.
Are they necessary? No, unless you change buffing wheels often

I only have one spindle and several wheels, so yes, I do plan on changing wheels often. How does it keep the wheel on?

Tapered Spindles, Mandrels & Points

Description: Tapered spindles, mandrels, and points for mounting pinhole center buffs on electric motors.

Purpose: Used to mount pinhole center buffs (goblet, taper, leather center, etc.) on various types of tools and equipment. Automatically centers buff on shaft. No need for washers or nuts, wheel is held securely in place by centrifugal force. Spiral thread allows wheel to spin up the tapered shaft when motor is turned on; when motor is off wheel comes slowly off for safe, quick change.

Dan, I have a couple of those things you're more than welcome to if you want em.
I tried em and for one reason or another, I think it's the speed of my buffer, the buff just shot right up the threads and onto the shaft of the buffer, lol.
Just been sittin in a drawer for years goin to waste.
Lemme know if you can use em.

doh!

Just ordered some from K&G last night...yes...it was late...

Thanks for the generous offer. Hope somebody can get some use out of 'em.
