... you have a gigantic picture ...
Welcome to Bladeforums :p

What is it you'd like to know? I've had one about as long as you. It's a great knife, a modernistic variant of the basic Finnish design known as a puukko (meaning "knife"). Tapio Wirkkala was a famous Finnish designer.

You can see more Finnish knives here:

Lynn Thompson of Cold Steel followed up on his own interest in Finnish knives and ethnic knives generally by making a copy of the Hackman recently, which he calls the Sisu. The price went up since the Hackman's days! :)

Used to have a few of the early ones, the blade was too brittle for use, one could sharpen it to VERY sharp but not use it. The later ones are supposed to have better blades. The handle is ok in summer time but got a bit slippery in winter.

The puukko came in two sizes. The large size was selling for $30.00 when I got mine. I found the smaller size a couple years ago for $25.00 at a flea market.

I have used the larger one with no problems of chipping. Takes a wicked edge.

Hackmann was (is?) a major manufactuer of medical gear.
