Tapping for lefty carry

I know that there's plenty of drill and tap sets out there, and obviously there have to be ones that are small enough to do pocket knife clip screws. What size would I need, and are there sets available that will handle most of the screws commonly used?

Also curious about inset threads for G10 handle knives, and if you need a carbide tip drill bit to do steel liners.

You can buy a thread gauge cheap off the internet. Measure the screw to see what you have and see what size drill and tap to buy for that size.
I think something that small would require a drill press and vise to keep the hole plumb and level.
