tapping lubricant?

I did a search here first, but couldn't find a brand or type of tapping lubricant that can be found in a regular hardware store. I'm going to drill and tap into titanium a little bit more than 1/8" thick in order to attach a pocket clip. Can anyone recommend some drilling/tapping lubricant I can get at a hardware store? I read that good old WD-40 can cause a flame out.
