Anybody know the difference between the Master and Journeyman versions of the 5.11 Tarani Kerambit?

As far as I can tell, it's just the steel: S30V in the Master and 154CM in the Journeyman. Is that the extent of the differences?

g10 lined handles in the master, frn or equivalent handles in the journeyman.

weight differences accordingly as well.

The Master's model has a full steel backspacer that extends around the ringed end as well. It is heavier. I own more than one of both. The Journeyman version is lighter in the pocket. I have carried a Journeyman for more than a year to work. The lock-up is great and I personally prefer the sharpness of the 154cm blade when compared to the S30V out of the box.
The Master's model feels a little more solid in the hand but both are winners. I wouldn't be afraid of either version. I had one of my Master's models serrated and carry it often when I travel along with an Emerson combat karambit or super karambit.

So the Journeyman construction is similar to an oldschool Spyderco?

The Journeyman has an FRN type handle material. I have carried one over a year with no issues. I have purchased 9 in the past and gave some for gifts. Only one ever had an issue. The lock just seemed a little off.....but I sent it back and received a perfect one in its place.

I see no issues with the Journeyman. I think www.newgraham.com usually has them in stock at a good price.
