Well, the large sycamore log that I got today turned out to be not as long as I thought it was. A little under 8 feet long, after I removed the hollow, "squirrel home" zone above this part. There's a 2 foot high section of stump that's left, but I forgot to take my 20" bar and chain to change out (I only had the 16"). I'll be getting that tomorrow or the next day. I used a BK9 for size reference....



All that leads to the question...
All I've had to throw at til now was a couple of railroad ties stuck in the ground, so.....
For knife and ax throwing butts, how thick should I make the sections from this one? 7 - 1 ft thick sections or 4 - 20 inch thick sections
