Hi,

I was at Target this morning and found the Supertool 200 marked for clearance at $25. Yes, I bought one.

I don't know whether this deal is going to be at all Target stores or not. If you need a ST@00, you might want to go look.

Best - Joe

Thanks, Joe:)
so does that mean that they might start carrying the Core and/or Surge i wonder?

Jake

I also got the super tool 200 for $24 and the fuse for $19.target has sone really good sales sometimes.

Thanks for posting that Joe. I stopped by the local Target (I usually avoid it) and there were still a few left at clearance. ;)

Is this a store only deal? I've been looking on there website and can't find any mention of it. I'd like to get one and going to the store itself is not possible(I live to far away).

As far as I know, Target is the only store running this clearance. I checked a few other retailers around me. ;)

target carries the Core.

no luck in the targets in pasadena, CA, went to 3 targets and either they sold out or just plain don't have the clearance.

I went to the one in Foster City, CA on Sunday and there wasn't a Supertool to be seen. Did see a Surge though.

Went to my Target here in Clearwater, Florida and they had a few left of the Supertool 200's for $24.99 and the Fuse for $15.00

I picked up one of the 200's just to leave in my truck.

Also had some of the Gerber stuff on clearance too.

No Surges on the east coast yet...maybe we could swap you our SuperTools

Local Targets (central Ohio) had Supertools on clearance for $35, not quite the blowout I had hoped for. I did pick up a Fuse for $20, tho. Both Core and Surge were in stock. At current prices, I can wait.

Just picked up the last two at the supertarget in Viera, Fl. :D

I went to SuperTargeton 120th Avenue in Northglenn, a northern suburb of Denver, and found a handful of SuperTool's clearanced to $24.99, so I picked one up to leave in my pickup. A few Gerber knives were also on clearance, but I've heard recent Gerber production standards have fallen pretty low, so I passed.

I've owned an original Wave for a few years, and a Juice before that, and have always been impressed by Leatherman products. I recently bought a new Wave, which I really like.

Regarding the SuperTool - the blades lock up nice and tight, but the unlock lever seems very stiff. I have to "thumb" it to the point of discomfort. I presume this is just a function of the tool's newness? Does anyone else have a stiff locking mechanism on their SuperTool?

On the ST 200 the unlock lever is stiff. With the right technique, it is workable. What I do is to hold the tool in its closed handle position, thumb the lever back and lower an implement until it stops against the bottom handle. Then I open the tool and push the implement the rest of the way into the handle. I find this the easiest and safest way to close an ST 200. The unlocking system on newer model Leathermen is easier to use, but the older one is good enough, especially for the price.

I called around to the six different Target stores in the Miami area and finally found one store that had one left for $24.99. Several of the stores had them on clearance for $34.99 and a couple of others didn't even carry the line at all. I asked one of the stores why there was a price difference within the same town and she said it was determined somehow by demographics and beancounter type statistics on what they thought they could sell it for in that area. It pays to call around before driving.

Thanks for the heads up on the deal. That is a great tool for that price.
