ok so we all have hawks here, so we all must throw at some point at something. however im sure we dont all live in a wooded area where there are plenty of trees around. so what do you guys use as throwing targets?

Hey Steve
A nice big slice of log works well if you don't have a big dead tree to throw at. I made a couple up from a 20 inch Spruce log sliced about 8 inches thick and added three legs out of branch wood. Two holes drilled in the bottom edge of the circle and one in the back to make a tripod base.

What Robin said. Take a slice of log to the diameter of your choice, bigger the better so you can move a target, such as a card, around the face as you get good at sticking the hawk. Make your tripod with the two legs up front and the third to the rear. Secure a support across the front of the two legs to a height of your choice to support the round. Drill a hole through the hawk block and tie it round the tripod tie point. Step you distance out and mark it. For me it's about 7 paces. Enjoy. Two hawks will save steps but you will bust handles as you start to stick it consistently.
