I have a case russlock with some wierd brownish yellowish spots on one bolster. Im not too familiar with the proper ways of caring for the parts of my russlock other than the blade(Im assuming thats why the bolster tarished). What can I do to clean it up? And how can I take better care of my bolsters.

not really sure what would cause a spot, bolsters will tarnish a bit thats to be expected with nickel silver, usually its more of an even tarnish, did ya get anything on it?
I dont do anything drastic to shine my slipjoints up. Just keep 'em clean and lightly oiled and riding in my pocket actually keeps the bolsters looking pretty shiny, a little scratched but shiny:D
Alot of people recommend Flitz or Metal Glo polish. Ive never tried them
Personally i would try just buffing with a soft cloth, getting too aggressive and you'll likely cause more harm than good.
Just had a thought though could it be the pivot pin you're seeing??? Dunno it happens on older well used slip joints
good luck to ya

I have a few slippies I don't carry very often and I like to keep em pretty and shiny. Every once in a while I'll take them out and admire them then put 'em away till next time. I wipe them down with CLP and a clean rag. Sometimes I miss a spot and the next time they come out to play there is some tarnish on the bolsters. A little polish will clean them up, I use Blue Magic Metal Polish Cream.
