Made by Sher. :D

Horn handle with Pommel, 35.5" overall, 9" handle, 26" blade. Very nice work, worth every penny. Balance is very good, sword feels light in my hand. I do need to spend some time putting a proper edge on it though.

Very pleased with it overall, workmanship is excellent. :D

You lucky dog! :p

My Tarwar should have shipped today, so I'll probably have it within a couple days! :D

Ank, let me be the first to say, "I told ya so." :p ;)

They Are Nice now ain't they? I would be most interested to hear how the blade is hardened and to approximately how hard if you have any experience with Rockwell Testing?

Also what kind of edge bevel does it have? Is it a Sabre grind, convex grind where the whole bevel is convexed or a combo of Sabre grind with a convex edge?

Yvsa,

The blade is fluted on the top half (Blood Groove) but the edge is a true Sher Convex. True Convex, no sabre grind.

Looks like Sher fordged the blood groove then beveled it like he does his khuks. Excellent job for sure. :D

It won't take me long to put a very sharp edge on it.

Haven't sharpened it yet, but when I do I will get a feel for about how hard it is and let you know.

Thanks for report and info.

Uncle Bill,

You were right as always, you sent me a winner, Sher does excellent work as always. :D

I know I am Bias though, 4 of my Khuk's and the Tarwar are Sher made. :D

Yvsa,

I sharpened it, polished and waxed it. :D

It took about 20 strokes on each side with a ceramic rod from my sharpmaker (Using it like a steel) and it shaves hair. :D

I say it's between 57 and 60 hardness on the edge from the metal removed (Not much) and the feel I got when I sharpened it.

Now I really can't wait. This is going to be a painful lesson in patience. :(

I can only hope that Canada Customs will grant expedient delivery of my Tibetan Sword.

Please Canada Customs; all I want for Christmas is my HI stuff quickly...
