Ok I'm a bit shocked at what a nice piece of work Bura put out for me,I missed a Tarwar that was up for sale when he wasn't feeling well and it was going to help with medical expenses.
I sent along the price of the one I'd missed and told Mrs. Yangdu to just send the extra for him all I ask was it have a wood handle...well when I checked in a month later I found he was making it for me! I was a bit~

Today I had a familiar triangle box waiting for me,when I opened it I about fell over, this is one of the nicest HI products I have ever seen, have a look:

I dunno if I've ever seen a finger grip Tarwar before.

This little fiend is SHARP I whacked that pizza box I had it sitting on and it sliced it,not crush, hack or otherwise-slice period.

The pics aren't too good since it's soggy and just plain nasty out,I used the box since everything outside is wet and I have no place to put the sword that's dry.

Many thanks to Kami Bura and you have made a very fine sword here my friend

That's beautiful. Where else can you get a tool that is a work of art and good karma, too. Many happy times with the new blade.

Rick

Nice handle + nice blade= art. (simple math)

BTW, are those bb gun holes in the pizza box? ;)

Boy, it looks like some time was put into that handle. It looks to be a handy size, too. What's are the dimensions? I'll guess 25" and 26 ounces?

Now I want one.... Love the finger ridges on the handle.

Need some good pics and dimensions on that thing. Very awesome work.

I'm going to see about more pics tomorrow, the weather wasn't doing anything but be a pain in the ass so maybe it'll be halfway decent.

Weight is a ? since I have no scale, but it feels like no more then 2lbs or so,spine is "HI thick" which means you could break coconuts with it :D

"HI thick"? This should be an entry in the dictionary now, it has become so commonplace as an expression (on this forum at least).

That is an interesting point actually and I am sure it has been brought up before, but I am still new here.

How do you think the spine thickness of HI kukris (and knives and swords in general) compare to a traditional Gurkha kukri from the Great Wars? Is the overbuilt muscular kukri a modern invention or is it a call from the past? I don't expect "ancient" sirupatis to be thick, but I am sure some of you must own "ancient" bhojpure variants, so how do they compare to the current line of products in that dimension?

Thank you for any insights, whether you are Kami or a collector,
Alex

LOL, yeah, HI knives are the only ones I know of that routinely make Busse knives look small.

Ok I was trying to take some pics this morn, but the blade is so shiny I had the hell of a time to get pics-then my battery conked out!

Love the fact they're using thicker brass on the guards. Congrats Krull. Bura is the Best.
