Tasman Salt

If you're a good shopper you can probably find it for less than that, but in any case whether it's "worth the price" depends on what you expect from the knife as does "better than". If you're into SD, or a budding serial killer, then the Matriarch might be a better choice. I you live around salt water, open bags of fertilizer, or sweat a lot, then the Tasman might suit you better.

I often carry a Tasman at work for cutting plastic strapping. It excels as an all-around utility blade. For that reason alone, I would take it over the Matriarch.

I agree, unless you really need the offensive ability of the Matriarch, you don't really need it. The Tasman is better suited for EDC and everyday usage. And it has H1 steel which is nice if you live in high humidity or like to be around the waters.

Overall Tasman = +1

Oh yeah, it's worth the $70.00 though i paid a little less than that but that was like 2 years ago.

I'm deciding between just ordering the Tasman Salt or waiting for the more expensive Yojimbo2. The former is available now and less expensive but the latter would seem to fulfill my needs a little better. On an aside, this would be a blade I carry while hiking and that H1 steel would be great. Decisions, decisions.
