Dear All;

I'm trying to replace a TAT Skinner that was lost when my home burned on December 28. Fixed blade, 4 inch, cocobolo handle with brass cross pins. Leather strap, wood ball teather to leather sheath / belt strap.

Anyone know where I could go to replace it? I do have a picture of similar knife I located on the internet, but could not find the pathway to purchase it.

Would appreciate any links, phone numbers, etc. It was a gift and special to me.

Thanks. Ted

TAT as in Doug Brack?

All of his stuff was custom, you may have some difficulty replacing it exactly.

To the best of my knowledge, Doug is no longer making knives. Last I heard, he was extremely ill.
Best suggestion is keep an eye on the auction websites, Google different searches, and patience, patience, patience....

I live in Ventura County, I could go scan the local shows when they happen, he lives here. Or lived here....

Good luck in your search, I'm sorry for your loss, he made great knives.

I have a 1998 TAT custom knife. I have had bought back in 98. I have never used the knife. If you are interested.
I'll send you photos if you would like.

My dad is Tat - Doug Brack custom knife maker (Tat Knives) He is no longer making knives due to health issues, but is alive and well in Fort Mojave, Arizona. He can be reached at (805) 850-5343 PS I think my dad called that a "Stubby Skinner" - one of my favorites he made!

I have came across a TAT knife that might be what your Looking for.
