Wondering if any one would be interested in criticising my technique in a polite way through videos, Obviously I am only gonna share my good cuts but still.

I am fairly good at self critical examination but shouldn't hurt too much to get additional opinions right?

Well... some of it depends on your ryu, but for universal principles I don't see why not - although really, your teacher, in-person, is still vastly better than anything someone can tell you since they will correct your movement as you go.

Consider posting on Swordforum or on e-Budo.

Not heard of e budo before, Not keen on sword forum though dont like the real name policy they have.

Just did the cuts and converting vids now, coming soon.

seno is correct...depending on the school...but here's my input and remember i'm no expert in Japanese cutting either, i'm also a student. my bread and butter is FMA...

need more waist action, i thought...it's hard to tell because of your hakama, but maybe a little more bend on the knees--maybe you are already and your just too tall.:D again, coming from FMA cutting standard...your center line was too aligned with the target. maybe use a bit of evasion footwork as you cut. this will involve your whole body into the cut and this will avoid the leaning on oneside and your posture will be more balanced. other than that not bad...keep practicing.

oh...maybe start the cut from top of the tatami, then go down the length. will save you on the tatami...:)

You are allowed to practice battojutsu in England? I thought that the legislative is against any long blades and weapons.

The laws are awkard concerning blades used in a martial art, they are for now fine it use if you can prove your actually training.
No sword is at the moment illegal to own. But that will probably change in the next few years.

I normally do start at the top of the tatami, but find my technique a little lacking somewhere in doing doubles like that. I think it's a mental block though.

One of my problems I spotted I thought I got out off but apparantly not, back foot keeps turning out to the side.

Any thing else I might have missed?

Oh and some of my noto really sucked.

your back foot turning to side is fine IF...it's the waist that's leading the turn and as long as your stance still feels strong. i'm like that with certain cuts. if you don't like the turn of the foot you can easily remedy it by sinking or bending the knees a bit...i hope this helps. :)

Might be that your body goes somehow forward as you cut? More like a slight bow with weight shifted forward (so you are not perfectly straight)?

Yeah, thats one of my biggest problems if it is put as posture, I always lean forward too much, this time last year it was a lot worse, getting better though.

Looks good. I would follow through a bit more like a golf swing. Don't lean into the target, use more shoulders and waist. Head should remain level for the most part, but as posted earlier, you may be a bit tall. Good luck.
