I'm planning a full back and shoulders piece. Across my shoulders, "This We'll Defend" (like on a drill sergeant's patch) and below it, the Bill of Rights in it's entirety. Tell me what you think.

"Nuts" comes to mind.

Tatoos, like a womans make-up, should accent and not be used to create (in the case of make-up, used to accent a womans natural beauty).

I've been investing in companies that are developing or have developed tattoo removal technologies. Thus far, those investments are doing well. So, my advice to everyone is get lots and lots of tattoos; I need the money for my retirement.

i think your general idea is a good one, ie an "i love america" pic.

however i think the end product should convey it in a simpler manner.

I like the idea. That thing is going to take forever....

I've got a detailed eagle that is shoulder to shoulder and about 8 inches measured vertically and it took 5 hours, all one sitting though!!

Get it done... Post pics and be happy!

Excellent, can you send me the names of said companies??? I would also like to recommend that everyone get lots and lots of tattoos in addition to helping buoy up my new investments (as soon as Gollnick sends me the names) they also help with things like job interviews.

1.) If you want to be able to read the lettering a year later, be sure to pay extra to have an EXPERIENCED and SKILLED artist do the work (the two not being the same). If he goes too deep, the ink will spread into illegible blobs. If he doesn't go deep enough, the ink will "fall out" and leave gaps.

2.) If you're planning a back piece, draw out the design then put it aside for a year. During that time you may either change your mind or decide to alter the design a bit.

3.) DON'T use white as the background for the Bill of Rights -- either leave it uncolored or use a pale yellow. White will not be visible until you sunburn . . . and then it will be pink.

I have any number of suggestions. The first one is that the mods move this thread to whine and cheese so that I can post the rest of them without getting my butt kicked by a mod.

:D

Judging people because they have chosen to decorate their skin is like judging a woman for coloring her hair...it is silly. Judge people on their actions not their appearance. I don't have any ink but my SO has quite a few...she would be beautiful with or without them and is a great person in general.

I do agree with tyr_shadowblade tho....this is not something to try and save a few bucks on...go with the best artist you can find and be willing to pay for the best. You will be happier with the end product that way.

I say you go for it! It is going to take a few sittings though! I have a full sleeve on my arm and I have about 20 hours or so into it and have about 7 - 10 left to go!

Hopefully, you don't have the significant mental and personal issues that SS is going through.

I was a professional tattoo artist/tattooist for almost 10 years....he needs to take a LOT of time to consider his ink of choice...it is not something to do as an impulse.

I'd start with a T-shirt with that on the back and wear that around
for a while and see how it goes, might make a real seller there...

No I don't have mental issues, and I agree! It is a BIG decision to make! Taking a year or 2, to decide what you want is a good idea. It's going to be on his body for the rest of his life! I'm very happy with my sleeve. I went through the stupid tattoo faze, and now I'm happy to say that I will never regret my sleeve! My tattoo artist is a well known and respected artist and, I let him go at it. I haven't been disapointed since I have met him!

Maybe but it doesn't matter. The fact is that people do, in fact make instant judgements based on first impressions and your appearance is most of that.

Very true! I was in McDonalds one day and there was a nun in the line next to me. She was staring at me and rubbing her cross like I was the Devil himself! It's not like I have my face all pierced up or something! I have a sleeve on my left arm and a few on my right. Oh well though, I could give two poops (thats right I said poops) less what people think!

Well, I already got these... so I think a backpiece won't be much worse.

The question was not if you had tattoos or not. Both of your arms could be covered up with other work if you somehow changed your mind, or did not like what they looked like anymore.

A full back piece is PERMANENT....it will be there FOREVER....and no amount of mind changing will undo it, unless you get skin grafted onto your back from your legs.

SS...right now, your mind has been through a blender....you should be seeking and making the most basic of choices available to you, and avoiding elective surgery(tattoos).

It won't make the pain any less, it will just shift it back further....you need to deal with the pain, meet it head on, and conquer it....when you do that....get the tattoo.

Best Regards,
