Taught a non-knife guy why $200 dollars is not too much for a knife.

Okay so some friends and I went snagging on Saturday and caught 7 fish and kept 5. Naturally we had to clean these fish, and me being the only knife guy was the only one with sufficient enough sharp pointness. I turned to my Spyderco Gayle Bradly, because it seemed like the perfect knife for this particular style of fish cleaning. We used that knife to do all of the gutting, fin removal, tail removal, and head removal and then I let one of them use it for skinning them while I used one of my fillet knives. It did absolutely nothing to the blade. It was still just as sharp as it was before. I wanted to point out that it was still sharp, so I when we were almost done I said hey watch this and then showed them that it was still sharp enough to shave hair. My friend, who is not a knife guy and thinks I'm nuts for spending so much money on knives, said I don't care how much you paid for that knife it is worth it. Anyway I just thought I would share my story with you guys it always makes me feel good to show other people that yeah a more expensive knife is much better than your cheap Wal-Mart made in China knife.

It happened see I even have pictures. In case anyone asks I am in the green shirt and that fish was a little over 70lbs to our best reckoning. It was the heaviest of the year so far for us.

What species is that? I have spent quite some time fishing and that is a new one to me!

Edit:
Well google tells me they are paddlefish who are filter feeders. Its like a freshwater whale shark!

I guess you have to catch them by snagging them?

Yes they are paddlefish, and yes the only way to catch them is to drag a very big hook through the water and hope you get really lucky.
