Taurus Curve .380

I know its not designed for accuracy but I would tend to think that the barrel being cut away at the top and not allowing gasses to escape evenly would put a yaw on the bullet. May cause a bullet to tumble instead of expand. On a lower power round like a .380 that could spell trouble!

Just my thoughts from looking at it.

It's interesting, but I'm a little more traditional.

Ah the Taurus bashers come out in every forum. What can you do?

I have 2 currently, and sold an old 85 because I couldn't hit anything with it. Gun was fine, I just don't like small revolvers.

That said, the PT145 is a hall of fame gun.

Now, back to the Curve, horrible designing here, and I don't see the point in spending 400 dollars on a compact .380 when 9mm options are close in size and cheaper.

No, it won't be a "Home Run" and I can just see that pocket clip snagging on her purse as she tries to draw the weapon.

The articles I've found on the Taurus Curve .380 are all quite recent, so I don't think I'm posting old news. In any case, the curve sure shows some outside-the-box thinking. Have a look...

It's good to see a gun manufacturer thinking about how a lot of guns are actually used. I don't know how well this one will work out, but as a mechanical designer, it's interesting to me to see how they've worked out a lot of issues with structural integrity, ammunition feeding, etc.

I'm the guy who started this thread. Being a lefty, this gun isn't for me. I'm also a revolver guy. I very much like outside-the-box thinking, though, regardless of the product. Without it, we'd never have had Glocks, or semi autos, or revolvers, etc. As for this particular gun, it's not like most .380s are difficult to hide. Maybe the Curve is just a solution in need of a problem. On bigger guns, the "curve" and extreme rounded edges might make a real difference, though. While I did provide a link to a particular gun, in essence, I was linking to interesting thinking.

I would think with the way that it is curved to my side that it would be harder to grab.

I have never shot or even handled the pt145. The pt 22 I had was back to the factory 3 times before it had 500 rounds through it never was right . I have 6-7 friends who have bought Taurus autos every one has been back to the factory. When every single Taurus auto I have had my hands on has failed it is hard to have anything positive to say about them. I have no problem with their revolvers and usually have a stainless Mod. 94 snub nose 22 on my belt if I am out woods bummin'

As the O.P. said wouldn't work for me if it did preform as I am a lefty
