I wrote off the Battle Mistress 'cause it's gonna get used at work. :)
Any one else write off knives? This is the only one that is getting written off as I can't justify the others. Tax deductible Battle Mistress has a nice ring to it..

I asked the girl who does my taxes, and she said it was a no go. She did say that once a folder is made I can, as it is something I can carry while on duty.

Hmmm.... I would imagine some of the SAR people here might take note, if they're not already hip to such a deduction.

Hmm, what is a legitimate use for my Infi as a lawyer? is my GW in my brief case a work tool? Staple remover?

I think I need another letter opener.......I need to replace the Bad I sold with another bad, or muddy AD?

Interesting.....a gunsmith told me I could write off my training ammo and one firearm because we have many employees at my company and can't afford contract security. I never did it but it seemed to make sense.

We have had a couple spouse's or significant others show up to continue a prior argument at work. One got rather ugly indeed.

I've wrote a couple off. :D But I'm not game enough to write any more off though.:D

Edited to add.

I know a couple of people that have sponsored themselves with a shotgun and ammunition for clay target shooting, they must be pty ltd though.

A guy I used to know who collected vintage WWII weapons once wrote off a $17,000 (IIRC) machine gun. He was in law enforcement and took the weapon once to the range to shoot and show a few co-workers. :barf:

Since its really for work, thats a great idea!

But I hate to hear people screwing the gov. over... like the LEO that on_the _edge spoke of:thumbdn::barf: We all wind up paying for it.

I write a few off, legitimately :D
I need them to make sheaths with :D

Wow. I bet they were mad at him afterwards.

Only the ones that lived:eek:.

Over keeping their own money? Imagine how much it would stimulate the economy if all guns and knives were tax deductible;)

Over keeping ther own money?....I have no idea what you mean by that:confused:

He didn't keep his own money(the LEO in OTE's thread). He let us pay for his $17,000 gun:thumbdn:

I don't think you understand what a "write off" is. We did not pay for his gun. You did not pay for my CG FBM. I payed for it. It is a tool I use at work so I can deduct a percentage of it from what the gov steals from me this year. Same with the guy that brought the $17,000 gun to work. Good for him.

Yes I understand way more than you think.

I'm glad and would have done the same thing as you:thumbup:, but if you think people should right off a $17,000 gun for work knowing that it's a lie is a scumbag IMHO...edit-(the LEO, not you of course).

Me and you are apparently nothing alike when it comes to honesty. But to each his own.

Again, I agree with your right off.

Display them in your office and consider them art? :)

No, I haven't done that. And I've written off some pretty unusual stuff.

If you dont like the government robber barons using your taxes to pay off their wealthiest contributors, go start your own country. You can call it.... America... errr, make that America 2.:D

You can write off anything you want as long as you don't get audited. Dont know what type of work you do but if you're self employed, you shouldn't have a problem.
