Looks like I am getting $500 back from Uncle Sam and would like to use the money to pair my RC-3MIL up with a good EDC pocket pistol. I DO like the kel-Tec P3AT & Ruger LCP .380's and also the Kel-Tec P9 but in the last few weeks I have been drawn to this new Diamondback 380 http://www.diamondbackfirearms.com/
It has been getting some real good reviews on the net and has been called the "Mini Glock" by many. My local gun dealer tells me that it is one hell of a gun and recomends it over the Kel & Ruger. I really like the pistol (I have handled it) but am a little skeptical about a new gun that is so new and unproven. What do you guys think?

Never heard of diamond back firearms. That being said I would recommend the Ruger LCP or Sig P238. Ive sot both the LCP and Kel tec P3AT and I was way more accurate with the Ruger, and the mag didnt fall out while shooting it either unlike the keltec. To me the Ruger just feels a lot tougher too.

Heard the P238 is awesome and they can be found for 5 or a little over or under at gunbroker.com

I do like how the Ruger has a slide stop but I just have to learn more about this Diamond firearm?

Taurus just put out its Slim 9mm, which is a little bigger than the Diamondback you're looking at, but will probably be easier to shoot. Remember that the smaller a gun is, the harder it is to get a good sight picture and control recoil. The Taurus also gives you an additional round in the magazine, and 9mm's going to have a little more testosterone than .380. Check out The Box O' Truth for some interesting, informal tests of some common calibers shot out of small guns.

I always recommend that people consider where and why they're carrying a firearm. Consider some scenarios that you may reasonably find yourself in and ask if the gun you're buying is the tool you want to have and buy appropriately. Good luck!

Don't know about Diamondback guns, must be behind in my reading, but can definitely reccomend any Ruger product. Very reliable, if not a little heavier and stiffer trigger than some of the more expensive competition. If you are actually going to be carrying this weapon in your pocket and not in a holster go for the one that is narrowest and has no exposed hammer. Good Luck.

I'd go with a 9mm or a .38 as a minimum. I've tried to like the little .380's and I've almost bought one on several occasions, but in the end I just don't have enough faith in the caliber to bet my life on it.

I would check out the Walther PPS in either 9mm or .40. I went and shot a lot of different brands and calibers including Kahr arms. I really liked the feel of the Walther and the fact that I could get a magazine that would allow for a full finger wrap and still fit inside the waistband comfortably.

Spend a lot of time doing online research and reading reviews but even more importantly spend a lot of time at the range shooting different guns and ammunition. I went with the Walther because it fit my hand the best. No online review is going to tell you that information.

I definitely want more than 2 shots in my pocket gun :)

Held a PPS at a gun show, felt like a skinnier glock. Thin, yet still square.

I'm with most of yall with 9 and .38 being the smallest I'll go.
