Are the pins on this knife sturdy,or are they cheap and will break easily?
From what i've heard about taylor's,they are good knives and they last longer than a CC or a jag.

Is this worth the $45/shipped price tag?It seems like a good buy,I just want to make sure before I decide to buy one.

Taylor Manila Folders were nice balisongs, too bad they don't make them anymore. My (somewhat educated) guess would be that it is a good buy for $45.

Stagger Lee, they are good quality bali's. Way better than the CC's or jags. I recommended vintedge to BFC. I don't know what a good price is for that particular model...sorry. I'm sure someone else will post whether it is or not. Kevin (vintedge) seems like a good guy from the few emails we've exchanged so far.

James Taylor imported the Manila Folders from the Philippines. They still make them in the Philippines.

The Seto knives are still available in Japan. Neither Taylor or Frost seem interested in importing them right now. As far as I know, Taylor and Frost still do busienss with the Seto knife company, only they do not buy balisongs, they do buy the other kind of knives they make.

Because of some problems with the youth in Japan, the knife making companies there raised the prices quite a bit on butterfly and balisong knifes. They use to sell in the $12 to $18 range, and were a pretty good deal. Now they sell in the $40 to $60 range and are clearly over priced.

It's a nice item, but you have to decide if you want to pay twice what it's worth. Thanks, JohnR7

thanks for the response,it had a effect on my decision making, which I decided to hold off on buying one. Thanks again for the info...peace

Had that same knife not even 4 weeks ago. Didn't like it at all. It had the wrong feel--sandwiched handles, too light. I sold it with a cheapie at $20 for the lot (both used)... and I think I got the better end of the deal. But that's just me.

I have a similar knife - it has an open sandwich construction with THIN handles you can really hide.. I didnt thnkit manipulated too well but the price is actually quite good. very secret agentish.
