1..Is this a serpentine Jack?
2..Any idea as to age?

In my opinion it's not a serpentine but a Jack. Nice knife Taylor eye witness are just great- and it's great to see this.

Great-looking Taylor's Fes, nice find  First time I've seen one in that pattern, but is it not a Serpentine Jack? That's an older tang stamp, but how old I don't know. Could you take a close-up pic of it Fes?

JACK ..willl take a better pic tomorrow...I thought a knife shaped like that was called serpentine (snake)?....so much to learn,so little time...........FES

Me too, but the names of patterns always confuse me!

I'd call it a serpentine jack. It looks like the serpentine die that makes a cattleknife a stockman. Except that it also seems to taper. I'm weak on pattern names too, though.

Maybe some would call it a dog leg? Whatever it is called, nice jack knife with some good Sheffield steel!

I have my thoughts

Nice find, Fes. Nice size!
I'd call it a serpentine Jack.

Not really tapered enough to call it a serpentine sleeveboard Jack, nor a wharncliffe Jack. (Wharncliffe can refer to a handle shape.) It is slightly hybridized, making it confusing. But in the main, I vote Serpentine Jack.

Nice knife. I thought you might like to see a similar one. I think it may date to the 1950s but could be a little earlier.
