Hi,

Posting a pic. of my Taz Rat next to my Camp Tramp.

While i was still having my Chopweiler (traded for something else Busse), i did put the Taz on top of the Chopweiler to discover that the Taz looked like it was made from a Chopweiler- lengt and shape of the edge pluss the shape of the downside handle, was excatly the same, incl. the tube washers. A scull crusher was added too.

For those not familar with the Taz Rat, it was not a regular offering, but some kind of show/Ganza knife, made a few years ago. Love that knife :D

I noticed the same about my Taz Rat against my Ratweiler. I came to call the Taz Rat the next gen Ratweiler. Would like a lanyard hole on the Taz Rat, though.

I will see if I can find them here......somewhere..... ;)

Here we go - I found them both. Looks like the blanks are different. The "Skull Crusher" on the end suggests that these are different. They probably ran out of Chopweiler blanks a while ago....

The Taz Rat on the Ratweiler shows the huge similarities and the small differences :

The Ratweiler and Chopweiler differ by their tip and handle (and the thumb ramp). The Ratweiler sweeps up a fraction more as seen on this pic I stole from BF:

The Chopweiler blade may match perfectly as it does not sweep so high.

Anyone have all 3 to compare ?

My Taz is my best knife, BUT I think it looks just like the Busse Battle inspired Bolo Blade. I am not good at posting picks, but if you google it you can see the similarities.

Love my Taz rat too. Always considered it a variant of the chop/ratweiler, but never knew any specifics. Pics sure show that though. Beautiful collection Magoo.

I don't have a Choppy to compare it to, but I believe the Taz came out of the Chopweiler blanks. If you look closely, it looks like the Taz may have started life as a drop point.

I do dig the Taz. It's one of my favorites.
