This one just finished up this week...A 3 5/8", 2 blade swayback jack hafted in lovely stag. ATS-34 hand rubbed blades, 410 SS fluted bolsters and liners, SS domed pins, blade halfstops. This knife will be donated and auctioned to raise money for the National Knife Museum.

I will endeavor to post the particulars about the auctioning of this knife if and when they become available. Sometimes generous benefactors preclude the need for auctions. **it happens :D
 
If you get Knife World, you will find the information about the auctioning of this knife on page 12. It's a really nice article and tells about Tony's support of the National Knife Museum and also tells about the specifics of the knife and the auction. I just saw this knife a couple of weeks ago and it has since been engraved on the sheld with "NKM".

The article states that the knife will be on display till the silent auction closes on Sat. June, 9th 2007.
 
Kerry, do you have an idea of approximately how thick that knife is and what the difference in thickness is compared to one of Tony's single blades of the same pattern? Thanks!
 
Perfection!! I don't know how Tony does it over and over again. Well...lots of experience coupled with a love for the craft..that probably has a little to do with his talent..

I know the 2 bladed flavor is made with .100" thick steel. I am going to take a SWAG and say that Tony would make the single blade model with the same material because thinner is better.
 
I would be hard pressed to pick just one pattern from the Bose clan but that one is right up at the top. Is it based on a pattern from a certain company and then refined by Tony?

I should've been more clear when I phrased the question. I was talking about the thickness as if you measured across the scales.

(Was wondering what the differential would be between a single and double blade (assuming the same scales were used for each.)

Elliott, the blade thickness on the pen blade and spring is .075 and it has a cut liner between the blades that is .032 so the knife would be .107 inches thicker. It's a nice carry and doesn't feel like a potatoe in you pocket.

Thanks, Tony. Not much thicker at all for practical purposes but that single blade must be a joy to carry. :thumbup:

(BTW, I always save the potato for the front of my bathing trunks unlike some of the fellas that weren't schooled properly by their parents. By the way, is Dan Quayle from Indiana? ;) :p :cool: )

The fact that Tony and or Reese does this every year says a lot about them and makes the knives they make even more special to me.
