I really love the look of the TC Barlows posted here. I have just completed 5 months of chemotheraphy for Lymphoma and want to give myself a present. Problem is I can't find this knife anywhere. If anyone can give me some info on how to go about obtaining one, it would be most appreciated. If possible, I'd like a single blade version with ebony handle. Thanks!

Sorry to hear about that horrible disease... my dad is suffering the same sort of cancer - All The Best And A Fast Healing- !!!

About the TC Barlow - VM inbound :)

Tks for the encouragement. The cancer made me spend more time at home and online and that's when I found this forum so it's not all bad :)

I hope you get well soon. And stay healthy.

I just checked every web site that sells GEC, and found only a 2 bladed Barlow in blood red bone at (non BF Dealer link removed). They are a paid forum vendor. Everyone selse, btw, is sold out. You may be lucky and find one for sale in the classifieds here, or elsewhere; that ebony is s tough one to get...Lord knows I've tried.

bon secour:thumbup:

Yes I know about the one available that you mentioned. Looks like I might have to look at other brands like Northwoods instead.

I bought mine directly from the creator himself Charlie Campagna (waynorth - forum name) it's worth emailing him :)

me too- and the link I sent you appears to be out of stock-sorry bout that.

Sorry to hear about the illness yatsunil, hoping you're on the road to recovery after those treatments. It's hard enough watching someone go through chemotherapy treatments, I don't like to imagine what it's like having to experience them.

I took a look around, there are still some red jigged and chestnut jigged bone TC barlows kicking around certain websites, only in the swedgeless spearpoints from what I can see. The only single blades I've come across are in the blood red bone covers.

Strike that, only double blades after having a second look, apologies!

As I understand it, there is a new run of TC barlows that will be coming to market soon. I'm not sure exactly when they will be available, but if I remember correctly they are to be the "one armed" or "razor" type barlows.

Chemotherapy is something that I will not wish upon even my most hated enemy. It's like slowly poisoning yourself. But I'm recovering as well as can be expected. Still a ways to go yet.

If you can privately message me where you found those single blade TC Barlows, I'd really appreciate it. Guess I can't be too picky about covers on a knife as rare as this.

Good to hear that a new run is in the works. But I don't understand the terms "one armed" and "razor" - can you elaborate please.

"One arm" or "razor" refers to the blade type. Here's an example of a Crandall (Case family brand) "one arm" Barlow. Note the main blade.

And best of luck on your treatments! My 7 year old grandson was just declared cancer free after battling Neuroblastoma since he was 2-1/2. We're so thrilled!

After having a second look I could only see double blades, sorry mate, I edited the post to reflect this. Also, you'll need to attach an email to your profile so that everyone can send you messages, I don't yet have PM'ing privileges.

Thanks for the pic. That main blade looks odd. Don't think I can live with that :(

Congrats on your grandson's recovery. Must have been especially hard on such a young boy.

No worries about mistaking the availability of single blades. The search continues.
Anyway I've fixed my missing email. Didn't even know it was hidden!

Keep your chin up and post a photo of your new knife when you find one.
