Hi Guys,
Here's a few more Rangers I just finished up. One is an RD 3.75, and the other an RD 9. Love those big choppers!

First, here are the stock specs:
Specifications:
1/4" thick 5160 Steel
Full flat grind
Extended Pommel (on RD9)
Lanyard hole (on RD9)
Linen Micarta ergonomic handle slabs for increase grip when wet
Handle slabs attached to full tang with 3 screws

Here are my modifications:
Removed the black coating from both.
Reprofiled the edges. These knives are now slicers and choppers.
Turned the RD9 into a clip point, sharpened its top edge, and installed serrations. I left them back far enough to have a short but useful plain cutting edge in front, for doing small delicate tasks (like cleaning fish, etc).
Installed a penetrator tip on the RD 3.75.
Enlarged and beveled the finger choils
Added thumb notches
Added serrations to the bottom edges (both).
Broke all sharp edges (except the two that count!) and removed all "hot spots"
Bead blasted, thinned and sculpted the grips for better retention, control and comfort.
Satin finished entire knife

The RD 9 includes a brand new heavy duty black nylon sheath, with large utility pouch.
The RD 3.75 has a Tanguay Custom Knives BROWN kydex sheath with large Tek-Lok. The Brown sheath on Tan grips looks great.

I was VERY careful while grinding these blades to preserve the original factory heat treat. Before the final polishing and sharpening, I used both blades to chop a 2x4 into splinters. They worked incredibly!

RD 9 is SOLD!!!

RD 3.75 is $150.00

Scott, nice work, as usual. What do you see as the purpose of the topside serrations on the RD9?

Thanks man,
The serrations are for cutting and tearing materials such as rope, webbing, canvas, thin aluminum, etc.
Thank you,
Scott

Thanks a lot man, and thank you again to everyone who pm'd and emailed me about these. Here's a small price drop for all you guys that were on the fence. Maybe it'll sway you to grab one of these. The new prices are listed in original post.

I also failed to mention, if you are active duty military, full time fire, rescue, or law enforcement, you get a 10% discount. In addition, If shipping to an APO or FPO mailing address, shipping is free. I just permanently added this to my sig line so I won't forget to post it in the future.

Thank you,
Scott
