This is Seth DuMouchel, my father left sometime this morning and is on his way to the Puyallup show and asked me to post for him.
Team Busse will be at the Puyallup, Washington show this coming weekend (May 5 & 6th). The show will take place at the fairgrounds the same as usual. I am unsure of the hours of the show, perhaps someone who knows will post it. Also if anyone knows it would you please post the phone number for the Washington Arms Collectors. My father will be away from the keyboard for approximately the next week while transporting to and from the show.
Rocjoc, my father will be calling you within the next few days.

Cool! I'll have a Saturday-only table, royal blue tablecloth, red box at one end that is opened up to become a rifle rack. Actually, the WAC shows open to members at 0700, to the public at 0800. And they are usually pretty well wound down by 1600 these days, even on Saturday.

Often, lousy weather outside means a better show inside. People go outdoors and play if it's nice. I didn't call for my table until this week, and they had not yet sold out the Saturday-only tables. That says it probably won't be one of our more crowded shows. All the more reason to come on down and enjoy it! The worst day at the gun show is better than the best day at work!

I went on Sunday to indulge in some fondling & drooling. Andre Dumochel were there with all the models in the Combat & Basic lines, plus the Assault Shaker, some variants, and some "historical" models. He also had some Kydex sheaths w/ Tek-Loks that fit the Combat models. The Busse booth was easily the high point of the show for me.

I went on Saturday, enjoyed talking to Andre. He's handed me a dilemna, though: He says my discontinued straight handled Steelheart II is now worth about $600 in top shape. He says I'm bashing around in the brush with a $600 collectible, so I should buy a new E-handled "beater knife," and put my old one away.

Broke as I usually am, I don't know how I'll explain to the Little Woman why I need a $300 beater knife...

Oops, almost forgot to mention, the video of the guy doing vehicle rescue with a Busse was cool. As someone with a couple decades of vol. fire rescue experience, I have thought I could use/abuse my SHII in such a capacity if I needed to. It was great to see it done.

Like Lane I ended up having a nice conversation with Andre on Saturday. When I first saw his table my eyes nearly bugged out seeing all those Busses in one place. They are fairly rare at this gun show. I also ended up with the same problem that Lane had. I have an A2 SH and an INFI BM in new condition that have both become collectors items. It took Andre 10 seconds to convince me I should have a beater Busse to keep from spoiling my collector pieces. Fortunately I had the cash to spring for a SH E :-). He had three with him so I got to fondle each each knife and scabbard to find the set I liked best. Of course I fondled everything I could get my hands on but then who wouldn't. Andre had a nifty cross draw Kydex sheath for a custom BM that Jerry made for him. He didn't have anything like it with him for a SH so I went over to the Blade-Tech Industries table. I have a number of pistol holsters from them and I knew they made knife sheaths. I felt funny surrendering my SH five minutes after I bought it but I contained my grief with much effort and the utterance of numerous sniveling sounds. Four days later my SH and the new cross draw Kydex sheath shows up at my door step. I'm all smiles now. This is a really good looking setup and the SH is very secure and rattle free. I better hurry up and start abusing this SH E before it becomes a collectors item too :-).

Hey, Jim, you've almost convinced me. If you don't mind my asking, how much did the Blade Tech sheath set you back?

Ain't it great having some dandy workers of Kydex in N. America?

The Blade-Tech cross draw sheath was $60 including tax but there was an additional $6.50 for shipping the sheath and my SH E. That was cheaper than driving the 50 mile round trip to pick it up. I could have waited for the next gun show, which I would have gone to for one reason or another, but the seperation agony was just too great. :-)

Sorry Lane but I guess my memory was a little short circuited. I looked at the receipt and here is the cost breakdown for the Blade-Tech creoss draw sheath:

$60.00 Sheath
$ 5.82 WA State Tax
$ 8.50 Shipping of Sheath and SH E
------
$74.32

Nothing but the best for my Busse.
