Hi everyone,I looking at getting a TGLB and have a few questions.

Were is the balance point on these?

Are the ones I see on ebay without fullers a LB model?(2014 blade show model)

Any and all help much appreciated, thankyou.

I don't know what your looking at on ebay. The Blade 2014 TG was satin finish, sabre ground, with unsharpened swedge. They are solid they do not have LB treatment. There was also the TGHD which I believe was the original, it had a convex grind and I've seen them coated and satin. The TGHD is pretty hard to come by.
As for the balance point, don't have mine on me. But I think I remember it being right about at the choil area ?? But that's best guess for right now.
You won't go wrong ordering one direct from the shop. The TGLB is a great knife and ordering it you'll get the combo you want
Hope this helps, keep us posted what you decide on:thumbup:

Adding to duramax comments:thumbup:, The balance point of the Blade 2014 TG is at the eyes of the crossguard as in TALON hole at least on mine. I love how the knife sits in the hand myself. Can't answer about the TGLB where that balance point is. What ever variation you acquire you will not be disappointed. GREAT knife:cool:

If I pinch my tglb between my thumb and finger, the knife balances right at the rear edge of the fuller. Basically, right above the choil.

Hi Leatherman,

thanks for pointing out this;
Yes, you are right.. that's what i remember too, the TG was just the TG.

And it started only when the TGLB came out, that the term "TGHB" - like some kind of contrapoint to the TGLB - became fashionable.
Although i also think that earlier there just was the original TG , i recently notice that quite some People seem to use the term TGHB.

By the way: i just have been bidding on a TGLB yesterday and was highest bidder. On a TGLB with sage blade an Brown canvas handle. Man, i just can not wait until this Beauty is here...

I guess SpecOps Sheath will be the best sheath for a TGLB.
What about the kydex inserts that Azwelke produces for SpecOps Sheath? Anybody has made experiences.. are these inserts recommendable? (i think so?).

Cheers Vincent

I belive you can also order a SpecOps sheath from Busse that has a molded insert for the tglb but I'm not 100% on this or the fine details. I use the specops sheath with the instert it came with with no issues.

Hi Lazy Otter,

thanks for your recommendation... after doing some sheath Research, i also think i'll give the standart SpecOps Sheath with factory insert a shot.

Cheers
Vincent

I have the SpecOps Sheath for my TGLB and the insert was horrible unless you like the tightest retention ever. I bought Azwelke's SpecOPS TGLB Insert and it is the PERFECT fit now. But let us know how it goes for you! I am clearly in the minority here so maybe you will have good results with the provided kydex insert.

So what is the new TG from Blade 2014 called? TG SABRE maybe...
Are there any others out there as I'm a johnny come lately on the TG's?
1) TG-w/o fuller
2) TG-w/fuller
3) TGLB
4) TG SABRE

The insert in my spec ops sheath was pretty tight on my tglb too. I just heated it up with my wifes hair dryer and it relaxed. Then I heated it again and formed it into the end of the fuller and around the tip of the blade so it wouldn't rattle around and it had just enough tension to hold the knife when turned upside down. Once I pull it a little over a half inch it slides out with no tension.

The Blade '14 TG is called a Satin TG if I recall correctly. You'd think I'd know as I have one. :D

I dont remember an original TG without a fuller. iirc that is, I've slept since then. :p

I do remember the new TG's without fuller being referred to as Satin TG's in one of the Ganzas.

Yea agreed Dwayne, I had to sleep last night and then when I saw your post I said "DUH". I think your right about a Ganza or show something but it was not a production option. Wish it had been but that is another story. At least the 2014-Satin TG came out and I did get 2ea. My favorite mid size to date!!!

Before the TGLB came out, there was a Ganza Custom Shop TG variant that had no fuller, bowie tip and a satin finish. I think there were only a couple made, but I know they existed because I woke up on the middle of the night in Malawi to try to get one and failed.

No problem, though - I later had Garth customize a TGLB CF just the way I wanted it, and it still cost (and weighed) less than the ganza version.
