Hello!

Long time here in the forum, at the beginning asking a lot, later just reading :)

Finally I've decided to participate a little bit more, so to start, I would like to share one photo of my Busse knife and a little story.

I was first asking in the forum to buy an Esee 5 (which I've bought also) and some colleagues here in the forum convince me to check other brands like Busse. I did check and as you can see, I ended up buying one.

Since I live in Russia now (I'm from Spain) and it's impossible to receive such a knife here, I did send this knife to a super nice person in Finland, Antti, who received the knife for me and later sent it to a city near the border for me to pick up. From where I live, Saint Petersburg, there is just 200 km to Finland.

I would like to say THANK YOU Antti, who helped me a lot. We still in touch by email, as i said, SUPER NICE PERSON.

Regards

That's quite helpful, glad you received such a beautiful knife. Mucha suerte con tu cuchillo, es superbueno .

Thank you Busto. Yes, it is nice to know that people can help each other. I believe somehow in that thing called Karma :)

As I said, we still in touch, nearly every week we send an email to each other talking about knives or life.

Why it is not legal to ship directly to Russia? I saw a youtube video of guys in Russia opening up packages directly from Busse.

Congrats on a great knife and friendship.

Thank you

Why it is not legal to ship directly to Russia? I saw a youtube video of guys in Russia opening up packages directly from Busse.

I believe that the Busse knives you saw in Youtube are thinner or maybe smaller... This knife that I have is considered weapon (ESEE 5 also), you can be 2 years in jail for that. I do have it in home and when I go to my country house I take it with me. I think nothing will happen. I even cross the border with Finland twice with the Busse and later with the Esee, I know is a risk! But I wanted these knives so bad :) Sorry!

Here you have some info:

the tourist knives are (tourist is the term they use for the legal knives) I did a copy past, translation is not the best but I think you'll understand :)

anything that is a knife that is under 9cm , that can be any bladed ool , dagger, ect ect.
or that is over 9cm, but with only a single edge , or a secound edge only for 35% of the blade. this can be any thickness, but must not a have a guard over 5mm wide...
next is knives under 2.5mm they can have a guard , can be double edged,, ect ect , but must be thin..
also knives with a point that is higher than the handle,
knives with a tip with a shape that makes the point greater than 70 degrees.
knives that have a downturned tip,, that passes the handguard in its position.

Risking prison time for infi? That's hardcore...

I think no prison for sure... The law here in Russia, like in other countries is a little bit contradictory. You can't buy a Busse or Esee 5 cause are thicker than 2.5mm, but for example some Shirogorov are 4mm. You can't buy a knife when is longer of 9cm (with some exceptions) but you can buy a machete. So if they stop me and see the knife on my way to country house, where I go every weekend, they maybe will not even know that this knife is illegal.

Knife people are very honest and trustworthy in my experience , we are a great bunch, we may look scary when playing with our collection though :)

Hi Willy,

i really like your Story... fascinating to hear about your way of life in Russia.
Strange knife laws indeed: machetes are fine, others not... strange.

You got an awesome Busse. Congrats. I also think that TGLB is super knife.

Cheers
Vincent
