Team Leader or Spec Bump

I have a good skinning knife but I can't decide between the Spec Bump or the new Team Leader from SOG with that latest and greatest metal for an all around camp/hunting knife. New to knives, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Currently use a Kershaw Scallion for EDC. I am thinking the spec could replace this?

Thank you so much!

Is it worth it to get the best steel? Are there advatanges to the 440 ie easier to sharpen or does the Durotech sharpen up easy enough?
Thanks!

I'll give the usual answer around here, "get both".

The Team Leader is a good camp design, it should serve that purpose quite well.
Having the 20CV steel is a big bonus too.

The Spec Bump is one of the coolest knives around and would be one of my top choices for EDC.

For an immediate answer I would say get the Team Leader now, seeing as it's a limited run, and get the Spec Bump later.

If you use a diamond stone the Duratech steel shouldn’t be a problem. This may be a good time to put some effort into improving your sharpening technique.
Most people have good results using Spyderco’s Sharpmaker, though I would recommend trying to get good at sharpening with a bench stone, once you get it right it’s much more satisfying.

Here’s some good sharpening info.
