Do you take apart your knives for cleaning regularly? Or just give it a rinse, dry and lube?
Normally, all I do is the latter, but today, I took apart 4 of my Benchmades.
Yes, there was a little bit of extra "stuff" I was able to get out of an Osbourne 940 and a Mini Grip, but they really didn't NEED to be taken apart to cleaned thoroughly.
On the other hand, I took 2 Benchmites apart (manual 310 and 3100 auto), and I found a little surprise. The small plug of steel that is part of the Levitator lock, and goes into the Blade when locked closed actually trapped a perfect little circle full of lint in the blade.
I'm pretty sure if you have the blade open, and blew compressed air into the blade handle, the little plug would come out.. but it was surprising nonetheless, to find this little compressed lint circle inside of my blade/handle. I don't know if taking apart knives like this void the warranty or not typically.
It didn't take long to put them all together..
