Just got in a new large Tec-lock. It came with three fasteners but they were all short ones with short screws. They would not fit on a sheath made from .093 kydex. I made it work by digging up some older long screws. Have you guys been buying extra screws for them?

Yeah, they seem to come with inadequate fasteners now (and their spacers are way too soft anymore). I've just been using my own.

Are the Boker brand any better?
I know they are both made in China now.

The Boker ones are just Blade-Techs sold under the Boker name as far as I know. There still seems to be a good supply of the old style from them, but not sure if any are packaged differently as far as hardware. I did see a review or two somewhere on Boker labled ones complaining about short posts though, so I doubt it.

I've had these short screw issues as well. I've started using the Spyderco G Clip which is infinitely more user friendly then the Tec-lock's.

Spyderco G-Clip is about all I use now, but then again, it's my design. Anyone wanting good prices on these should contact me. Pricing based on quantity ordered.

Is that a fact....I don't suppose you're sipping fresh coconut water and Havana Cub Blanco at your seaside hacienda in Costa Rica with the other BF member who invented the "Neckula" (which is now known as the Eskabar) courtesy of Spyderco royalties? :D

Gee, maybe my Bronx, NY upbringing keeps me from getting a grip on these tales of near greatness....one guy invents a knife, and gets a t-shirt; the other designs a sheath lock, and gets to brag about it...go figure.

P.S. The G Clip is a superior product to the tek-lock, btw.

Yes, it's a fact, despite your sarcastic remarks. That tidbit of info was only an offering to perhaps save you some money and the reasoning behind my ability to do so. Does not matter to me if you choose to pass.

I'm sorry, but I fail to see the sarcasm, I was adding a bit of levity, or making a "funny" as a grand daughter would say. Of course, you are entitled to interpret my obviously failed attempt at a little humor in any way you wish, and to suit whatever agenda you may have, so I'll just leave it at that. Have a great day.

Little up date here. Kind of hated having to do it as I think they should come with them. I went to Lowes and got some stainless screws. The size is 8x32 and I got 1/2 in long. They are 1.18 for 5 of them. Does anyone know if this problem has been posted in their forum here. I have not done a search there. Problem could be fixed just by putting in three longer screws in the package.Even if they left the short ones out I can grind off the longer ones a lot easier than stretching out the short ones. I will say that I like the what ever you call the things the screws screw into (Chicago screws?) better than the old ones. The newer ones at least give you some way to hold them if you want to take the screw out.

Just a note, if you have a local Fastenal (or you can order 'em online) it's like six or seven bucks for 100 8-32x3/8" black screws.

When someone orders tek loks with my sheaths I always replace the hardware with my own so they fit better.
