Tech II on the 'bay !!!!!

Let's link it up for easy access.

Looks mint, has original box, good seller feedback. Definitely a nice piece!

....and only one bid half way through the auction?

Heh...

It's going to be one of those auctions. ;)

The SEAL 2000 certainly has some heritage with the Tech II, and the SOG Tech before that. But it (the SEAL) was necessarily designed with a quite a few design specs & requirements over and above previous versions.
That notwithstanding, the Tech I and Tech are superb knives. As is the SOG Tech.

Cheers,

Carl

anybody interested to know just how dumb I am ??

yesterday at 4pm the Tech II auction ended..... and I forgot all about it.

the buyer scored it for a mere $51.00 !! Only 2 bids: mine opened at $50, then his to make the buy. no sniping at all.

pardon me while I take a few more aspirin..........

I thought the final price was a bit on the low side. But I wasn't going to bid when I really didn't want to buy it. I have one which I like. Actually prefer the Tech I better as it feels more right with the slightly shorter blade.

Hopefully there will be another offered in the coming weeks or months.

Don't feel too bad, Carl. I've blown a couple auctions like that. Something happens, you're preoccupied and it slips by. It's gallint to see someone else walk away with a great deal, though. It could be worse, though.

eBay itself has stiffed me on a couple auctions where I was watching the auction. Sometimes the site hiccuped when I was placing the bid and one time it refused to accept my bid because I didn't have a PayPal account. Never mind the seller told me personally they'd accept a USPS MO, eBay decided to second guess the seller.

I didn't even bother following this auction because I knew it was going to go into the three digits. :o

well, ya never really know where the price will go, for all anybody knew he had a max bid of $1mil ......

but like so many toys, I'm sad for letting it slip by without my even trying to grab it. All part of the fun.

Rimfire,
I agree, the Tech I does have a nice balance & feel to it.

Cheers,

Carl

 "PayPal Account Required" Sucks Even More!

That's the same little gem that burned me on a different auction.

Even if you contact the seller and they agree (because you've got great feedback) to accept an instantly negotiable United States Postal Money Order, guess what?

F*cking eBay won't allow you to bid on the auction.

  Sellers who insist on "PayPal Only" suck worst of all!

I resisted Pay Pal for a long time. It works very well and the sellers are very happy with it. I'd sign up. You can use credit cards on Pay Pal if you choose.

If everyone's so happy, I'd love to know why there was a successful class-action lawsuit against them.

...or why they have an entire forum focusing on the games the company plays with its customers.

"By hearing the screams inside the well, we can avoid falling in ourselves." -Russian Proverb.

It's not like there's enough angry people out there to maintain a site called "USPSmoneyordersucks.com" This is kind of funny. When you google "postal money orders suck", check out what comes up as the fourth entry. Another happy PayPal customer!

Anyway, back OT, it'll be interesting to see if the restricted payment options, reserve, and low seller feedback affect the NightTech's closing price. If the item is sufficiently in demand there's always someone willing to take the chance.

The one thing I don't like about Pay Pal is you can't get a refund. You get a credit on your next purchase. So, once the money is spent, it's gone. I have not had any security issues with Pay Pal so far. You will get emails that ask for info from scammers. I ignore EVERY email from Pay Pal. I figure if they need to communicate with me, they can do it when I log on their site.
