techno opening and closing issue

I have had a techno for a week now and was thinking it would break in but there is still a lot of resistance opening and closing. The small peg that is on the inside of the lock bar is causing sticking . The knife is not smooth unless the lock is pushed over so there is no contact with the peg. Will this go away or should I send it in?

You may just be holding it wrong. Mine was hard to open too until I realized that I was pressing the lockbar harder into the handle. My pinky and ring finger don't cause any problems sitting on the clip and in the lockbar cutout specifically, and it was my middle finger that was pressing into the lockbar. I put my index finger higher up towards the pivot, and lift my middle finger right off the knife and it's much much easier to open like that. If this technique doesn't work you could try adjusting the pivot, and if that doesn't work you may have to send it in.

You could have a sticky detent ball.
Maybe it will free up on its own but a drop of oil may help the issue.

What Barman said. I had the same problem on mine. A drop of oil on the peg or detent ball should free up the stickiness.

I just got rid of my techno unfortunately. But its an awsome knife. I had the same concerns as you when i first got mine , it just takes alot of opening and closing and it will break it. Also gota find the perfect way to hold it to do a thumb and middle finger flick. Takes a little getting used to. Wheni first got mine it was super stiff and by the time i sold it, it was smooth as butter.

So i read up on what an actual detent is and that is what seems to be causing the friction. It seems like a knife that won't be the fast opening which is fine but based on the reviews i watched before buying there is no way i could open mine that way even if I'm holding it the right way and not pushing the lock bar. Im hoping this works out i like the knife a lot.

You can deff get that thing to fly open with a thumb and middle finger flick. I also had that problem when i first got it when i would try to deploy it i was pushing against the lockbar at the same time, i just had to keep messing with it and find the perfect way to hold it since its such a small knife. Good luck.

I just got mine a couple of weeks ago and it is also very difficult to open normally with my thumb, but I can flick it open with ease. It is, however, already becoming noticeably easier and smoother than it was when it was new.
